Monday November 3

Today:

- In writing we practiced our descriptive writing. Ask me what I wrote about!

- Ask me what station I was in for literacy stations. We also had a class discussion about following expectations during literacy stations and working on building our independence! Please have a follow up conversation with your child at home about following classroom expectations during independent work time! 

We talked about:

- Staying focused on our job 

- Working independently on our task 

- Following the instructions for each station

- Not distracting others 

- In math we continued working on comparing decimals and ordering them from least to greatest. Please practice the questions below!

- In science we learned about how paper is recycled. Ask me what I learned!

  We are so excited to be starting the 2025-2026 school year with you!  This year, our whole school will be using Blogger to make regular agenda posts. The CBE (Calgary Board of Education) and Mrs. Brinson will be communicating information to  you through School Messenger email titled ‘Northern Lights News for ___.”  This email will include a link to the  Northern Lights School Website ,  so messages can be translated into any language. Today: - We went on a community walk!! - We did an art project about trees in the Fall! Ask me what we did! - Ask me what we did in music! - We had a sharing circle. We shared 2 positive things that happened this week. Ask me what I shared!  Reminders: At this time, the CBE is preparing for an Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike beginning on Monday, Oct. 6. Here is what this means for CBE families: All classes will be cancelled. Do not send your child to school. Transportation will be cancelled. Do not leave your child at a bus stop. Please visit the CBE Labour Action page for all the information you need to know about how this impacts athletics, trips, extracurricular activities, before & after school care, and other topics.
