Today:

- In P.E we played tower defense!

- In writing we learned how to make our writing interesting with triple scoop words. Ask me what a triple scoop word for "big" is! 

- In Science we learned what organic waste and in-organic waste is!

- In Math we learned how to order decimal numbers from least to greatest. We also played a decimal game. Ask me what we played!

- In Social we finished our community task! 


Reminders: 
- Picture day is tomorrow! 

- This Friday, October 3rd, we will be going on a community walk. Please see the image below for the route. We will take lots of breaks, take some time to discuss our community and admire the view! Please ensure your student is dressed appropriately for the walk.

  We are so excited to be starting the 2025-2026 school year with you!  This year, our whole school will be using Blogger to make regular agenda posts. To make it easier for you, you can add the blog right on to the home screen of your phone or  iPad by following the directions on the “Adding Blogger to Home Screen” document.  We hope this makes the communication between home and school easier and opens great conversations between you and your child. The CBE (Calgary Board of Education) and Mrs. Brinson will be communicating information to  you through School Messenger email titled ‘Northern Lights News for ___.”  This email will include a link to the  Northern Lights School Website ,  so messages can be translated into any language. Today: - We went on a community walk!! - We did an art project about trees in the Fall! Ask me what we did! - Ask me what we did in music! - We had a sharing circle. We shared 2 positive things that happened this week. Ask me what I shared!  Reminders: At this time, the CBE is preparing for an Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike beginning on Monday, Oct. 6. Here is what this means for CBE families: All classes will be cancelled. Do not send your child to school. Transportation will be cancelled. Do not leave your child at a bus stop. Please visit the CBE Labour Action page for all the information you need to know about how this impacts athletics, trips, extracurricular activities, before & after school care, and other topics.
