Today:

  • In writing we discussed the significance of our names and we got to design our own name puzzle piece!
  • Ask me what we did in Music and P.E!
  • In literacy stations we practiced our read to self station!
  • In math we did a multiplication and division check in! Then we started our time unit! 
  • In science we wrote our vocabulary notes for our Matter unit! 
  • We went through "what should you do" scenarios! 

Reminders:

- If you want your child to be posted on the blog, please give permission through your CBE account 

- Please return the forms about your name by tomorrow if you haven't

  We are so excited to be starting the 2025-2026 school year with you!  This year, our whole school will be using Blogger to make regular agenda posts. To make it easier for you, you can add the blog right on to the home screen of your phone or  iPad by following the directions on the “Adding Blogger to Home Screen” document.  We hope this makes the communication between home and school easier and opens great conversations between you and your child. The CBE (Calgary Board of Education) and Mrs. Brinson will be communicating information to  you through School Messenger email titled ‘Northern Lights News for ___.”  This email will include a link to the  Northern Lights School Website ,  so messages can be translated into any language. To make sure you receive these email messages,  please  SUBSCRIBE   using the email address you  gave to the  school.

Today: - We went on a community walk!! - We did an art project about trees in the Fall! Ask me what we did! - Ask me what we did in music! - We had a sharing circle. We shared 2 positive things that happened this week. Ask me what I shared!  Reminders: At this time, the CBE is preparing for an Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike beginning on Monday, Oct. 6. Here is what this means for CBE families: All classes will be cancelled. Do not send your child to school. Transportation will be cancelled. Do not leave your child at a bus stop. Please visit the CBE Labour Action page for all the information you need to know about how this impacts athletics, trips, extracurricular activities, before & after school care, and other topics.
